My father, Martin Sigfrid Lillskrubb
(changed to Johnson), arrived Ellis Island 15 Nov 1922 and died in Astoria,
Oregon 20 Nov 1963. He was born 08 Apr 1905 in Kronoby to Johannes Lillskrubb
and [Johanna (Anderson)]? He had older brother Andrew (Anders)? who came to
America first and a younger sister Marta who married Sven Koberg and remained in
Kronoby. I would like information on the genealogy for my grandparents. I
believe my grandfather was born circa 1830. I would also like to get an address
(email or other) for the Koberg daughters, Helena Skrifvars and /or Brita
Erlandson who made a query about my family (Q12-2) probably in
2003.

Hello! I have recently begun
researching the other half of my family and my great great great grandparents
had a large family in Finland before migrating to the USA. I have names and
dates of birth and some deaths....and the name of the town..but I have trouble
locating anything in the area. I also have what appears to be a land deed of
some sort in Finnish that I would like to have translated. The surname I have is
Kankos or Kanckos (I think the spelling with the C is more accurate. The town
refernce that I came across several times was Esse. If someone could help that

My Grandfather (fathers side) was
Jacob/Jack Hoglund/Hoaglund. He came from Wasa?? Finland to Quebec in 1895
according to his Decl. of Int. His fathers name was Matt/John Hoglund and his
mothers name was Lizzie/Elizabeth Lundberg. His DOB: 15 Jan. 1879. I have looked
and so has my cousin, but we can not trace him from Michigan back to
Quebec/Finland. According to his obituary he had a sister in Iron Mountain by
the name of Sofia Ahlstrand. I haven't found one bit of information on her. If
you would be so kind to offer help, I would greatly appreciate your assistance.
I would love to find where they came from, more family information, and if I
have any relatives in Finland. Thank you!

Looking for any information for
Simon Simonson Stor of Kronoby, born in 1869, came to USA in 1889, and died in
USA 1960. He may have kept the name Simonson or changed, so that will be the
problem. I can find nothing about him, no passport, nothing in the 1930 Federal
Census, do not know where he lived, possibly Minneosta, or Wisconsin. Brothers
Thure, Matt and A. Victor were also residents of USA. Know all of them. My Great

S. Back, emigrated to USA and lived in Escanaba, Michigan. His name in Finland
was Johannes Österback when he was born on Lindberget in Träskböle Övermark, but
when moving to "Soårsbacken" in Bodbacka he took the name Söderback. In USA he

Both my paternal grandparents, Karl
Edvin Karlson and Ida Rönnlund, emigrated from Finland around 1892 and 1895
respectively. Karl was a crewmember on a ship and jumped ship here on the east
coast of the USA. Karl and Ida met and married here in New Jersey. Ida's
mother's first name was Katarina. I understand they were from Nykarleby. Ida
also had siblings, Hulda, Hilma, and John. Maybe more. Before emigrating, Ida
gave birth to a son, Frans Adolf Rönnlund on July 19, 1894. He was raised by his
grandmother until he later emigrated to New Jersey in 1913. From US Census
records, I estimate that Ida was born in 1872 and that Karl was born in 1870.
Both spoke Swedish. Both were Lutheran. I would appreciate any family history on
either of them.

Hi, I've just recently began searching
